The insider-outsider paradigm is an useful tool to describe our situation.
It can find, moreover, an un-exploited economic correlative in the notion of positional goods and competition as introduced originally by Fred Hirsch.

I hope we will be able to go on towards a strong and wide tehoretical definition.

The first time i heard the word"outsiders" i thought of something close to 60 and 70's culture.the rage against the machine, the need and the desire of breaking the rules, the will of people of activate theirselves to get respected by government,to change thing,to fight the INsiders, virulent crowd of non thinking people who were blindly followings the steps someone had decided for them.Something like "the wall",though.
As i can read in this nice and witty article, this word can be read in a lot of different ways.Outsiders,as described by you,are all the people who have no way of raising the social stairs, condamned to live i the limbo of the hope of things to change, preclusived to try a wild goose chase.
the rich becomes richer, the poor gets poorer:the tragical binomial condamned our country to stay blocked in some kind of frightening subway where outsiders live, while it is forbidden to them to get allowed to the upper levels.Damn.
